Matthew house

Matthew House is an organization that provides support to families who have a loved one in prison. These families are often left behind with financial and emotional struggles. Matthew House provides food, clothing, transportation, and a place to stay for family members who come from throughout the state to visit prisoners at Monroe. Bear Creek UMC has supported Matthew House for many years by providing Mother’s Day baskets, turkey dinners for Thanksgiving, and through other projects. There are many opportunities for us to expand our ministry there and we hope to involve more people in discipleship. Help us Celebrate and Honor the Mothers at Matthew House!

For several years our congregation has honored many of the mothers served by Matthew House by presenting them with a Mother’s Day basket filled with special gifts. This sends the message to the mothers that they are loved and specially remembered on Mother’s Day.

Sunday April 10th, pick up a basket at Bear Creek UMC, fill it with items any mother would enjoy; bath items, lotions, note cards, stamps, candles, etc.

If you miss the opportunity to pick up a basket this Sunday, there are some other ways you can help. Pray! Pray for the mothers who will receive these baskets and pray for their families. Maybe you have some items from home that would be a nice addition to a basket. Bring them in and we’ll add them to a basket.  Please bring items or a filled basket to Bear Creek UMC on or by Sunday, May 7th.

Thank you Bear Creek UMC, for your support of these special mothers from Matthew House!
