Our “Children’s Church” experience begins at 10:15am, right after the Children’s Message in the worship service. There are options to explore:
Babies and toddlers (Ages 0-2) can be lovingly cared for, as always, in the nursery.
Ages 2-4 can head to room E2 for a station-based play environment. The play centers will include sensory bins, dramatic play, art, building, and/or investigating.
Ages 3-7 can go to room E3 for age-appropriate learning stations.
For all ages listed above, all will gather together at 10:45 for interactive read aloud and/or singing. These activities will continue to link the “Word of God” to our children and allow them to share all that they have learned.
Our adult education classes & youth Bible study begin at 11:15am. There are choices for all ages:
Babies and toddlers (Ages 0-2) can remain in the nursery if parents are attending classes.
Ages 3-7 can head to rooms E2 & E3 for a multi-age, station-based play environment. Since the Children’s Church class takes place during worship time (10:15-11:00), the hour after church is for fun connections amongst our kiddos!
Ages 8 and up can attend our Tween & Teen Youth Bible Study if they’re not interested in the playroom activities. This combines Biblical topics, online materials, and life-learning discussion. We will focus on activities and conversation that relate back to the sermon series, engage in mission events, and create opportunities for our younger generation to have meaningful reflections about youth issues of today.
Adults can attend ‘A Survey of the New Testament’ class (by Dave O – in the Multipurpose Room) or a class about the scriptures in Pastor Brook’s office.
2018-2019 CHILDREN & YOUTH CURRICULUM INFO:
What if Jesus taught your kids? How would he do it? What tools would he use? What would he want them to learn and remember? The Bible gives us lots of examples of how Jesus did it 2,000 years ago. He used everyday objects like coins, fish, and plants to help people remember the truths he shared with them. Hands-On Bible Curriculum does the same thing. We call them "gizmos," and they serve the same purpose: to help kids understand important Bible truths. It worked for Jesus, and it still works today.
Ages 6 and Up:
We love to involve our older children as well! With our NEW intergenerational program, kids of all ages interact with young adults, other parents, and older members of our community. Please attend with your child, or have another adult or mentor partner with your child for the best experience. Activities range from mission projects, hands-on activities, group discussions, music, and much more!
Because we value teenage interaction and encourage our teens to really let their gifts shine, we hope they will attend the intergenerational program (as listed above). We have confirmation classes and youth group for this age group as well. Please see the Youth page on our website for more info about dates/times offered.
If you are interested in helping with Sunday education in any way, please talk to Heather Nelson. She has volunteer opportunities (long term and short-term) in which you can get involved.
