Welcome to Bear Creek United Methodist Church!
Hi! My name is Brook McBride, and like you I’m new to Bear Creek! As Bear Creek’s new pastor I’m excited to be a part of this vibrant community and I am passionate about helping Bear Creek grow! My hope is that everyone at Bear Creek, including myself, learns and is inspired to grow in our relationship with the God we have come to know in Jesus Christ. I hope and pray that every encounter we have here at Bear Creek is one in which we leave being a better person. Here are some aspects of Bear Creek that we are passionate about:
We gather every Sunday morning at 9:30 for worship. For all here at Bear Creek we believe that worship is a transformation event. It’s a place where we encounter Jesus through scripture, lively music, and an inspired message. Worship is a place of grace for us. A safe place where we can come just as we are and meet a God who loves us and wants to make us whole. But worship is also a place where we are challenged to live a transformation life of healing and grace into a world that is often broken and full of pain. Know this about Bear Creek worship: you are always welcome and that grace always abounds! No matter if you are 2 years old or 102 years old…you are always welcome.
Children and Families
Bear Creek has a special heart for children. Many of us know what it’s like to have a 2-year- old screaming, a 4-year- old tugging at your leg, and a teenager mad at you because she didn’t get to sleep in. Getting those little (and bigger) ones to church takes some extra effort and the last thing you need is someone scoffing at you for being too noisy. For us here at Bear Creek children aren’t the future of the church…they are the church and we embrace them and those who bring them with every fiber of grace and mercy we can muster!
Youth have a special place in my heart. As a youth pastor for many years, I love the hope and the perspective that youth bring to the table. But let’s face it, churches are always good at giving youth a place at that table. We want them seen but don’t want to listen to their voice at times. As a pastor and parent, I believe our ear must always be turned towards our youth. They see things differently that we do, and we need that view! A church that welcomes and embraces youth for all they are is always a church that is near and dear to who I am.
My favorite part of any worship service is the fellowship before and after church. This is where we encourage each other, cry and laugh together, welcome and embrace folks who are new to our community, and eat great food (my favorite part for sure!) If you want to know Bear Creek just listen to us get “noisy” after worship!
Our church is fully accessible to wheelchairs (thanks be to God!), and we have many designated handicapped parking spaces as well. We also offer large-print bulletins and hearing-assistance devices upon request.
Feel free to send me an email or call the church at 425-788-2953 to learn more. If you want to drop by to say hello, our office is open 9:00am-3:30pm, Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri and 9:00am-1:00pm on Wed. (Click here to go to a map to the church).
May the peace of Christ be with you always,
