BCUMC Fellowship Committee Profile

Mission
- To provide a variety of social gatherings binding us together as a family in Christian fellowship.
Primary Function
- Primarily, Fellowship Committee functions to provide fellowship opportunities at BCUMC throughout the year. This committee serves the congregation, the church, and the community.
Responsibilities
- Major responsibilities include planning, organizing, and implementing functions and activities such as Sunday morning Coffee Hour, potlucks, Fall “Reach Out” event, Mid Week at Bear Creek (MWBC) dinners on Wednesday evenings, Advent Festival, and miscellaneous social events around special occasions. Fellowship Committee budgets purchases and supplies the kitchen for weekly use.
2009-2010 Goals
1) Continue to coordinate and host the Coffee Hour on Sunday mornings after Worship, embellishing holiday themes or special times such as Fall/Harvest, Advent/Christmas, Valentines Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Independence Day, etc.
2) Ellen McKee (coordinator of MWBC dinners) will coordinate persons/committees to serve the MWBC dinners on Wed. evenings (Sept.-May).
3) Provide a special Dessert Fellowship Hour following the Maundy Thursday Last Supper Event (working with Worship Committee)
4) Coordinate and host potlucks in the Fall, Winter, Spring, and in June on Confirmation Sunday, as well as a summer “Picnic Potluck in the Park” at Cottage Lake Park.(working with Education and Worship for family games and music.)
5) Coordinate and host the Fall “Reach Out” Sunday BBQ Luncheon in September.
6) Facilitate/coordinate Advent Festival in December. (working with a variety of committees/programs)
7) Work with Trustees on kitchen appliances, equipment and supplies.
8) Work with the Administrative Council on coordinating with other program and Administrative Committees.
9) Coordinate the November Stewardship Celebration Luncheon with the Stewardship Committee.
