There are many ways to give as explained below. When you give, make sure that you designate which fund you are putting a gift towards. If you would like assistance with any of these giving options, please call 425-788-2953 or email office@bcumc.org.

Cash or Check: These gifts can be given as part of the Sunday worship service or mailed to the church office. The majority fo our congregation chooses this method.

Automatic Debit: An easy way to give on a recurring basis. You may already use automatic debits to pay your utility bills, insurance premiums, etc. It is cost effective for the church and convenient for you. If you would like BCUMC to help you implement Automatic Debit, simply call our office at 425-788-2953.

Electronic Giving: This option is now available and offers a very convenient way to make a one-time or ongoing gift. Click here.

Online Banking (Home Banking): This is a fast and simple way to make your contributions. It allows contributions to go directly from your bank account to the Bear Creek United Methodist Church’s account. To use this method you will need to sign up with your bank’s home banking service and then establish the Bear Creek United Methodist Church as a payee.

Stocks, Bonds, & Equities: Giving of stocks, bonds, or equities may provide both an advantage to the church and also to the giver for tax reasons. For security purposes, the donor must contact the church office to initiate the process. These securities can be a blessing to our church and other ministries. A gift of appreciated securities is especially helpful because, as it grows over time, it will continue to bless and grow our ministries. When you donate an appreciated gift, you can look forward to:

• Receiving the fully-appreciated value of the securities as a charitable tax deduction (some limitations apply).
• Incurring no capital gains tax on appreciated securities you’ve held for more than a year. (In general this does not apply to mutualfunds.)
• Creating a living legacy: perpetuating your faith values and hopes through the ministries of our church.

Please consider the following ways of giving to our church:

• Use appreciated stock to meet your annual giving pledge. Before doing so, speak with our pastor or  trustees.
• Use appreciated stock to fund a charitable gift annuity or remainder trust through the United Methodist Foundation to increase your income, save on taxes and create an enduring gift for our church’s endowment.
• You may also use shares of mutual funds, corporate bonds and other investments to underwrite the aforementioned gifts. (Tax consequences, however, will be somewhat different.)

Equipment: Our church has an on-going need for equipment, furniture, kitchen supplies, etc. Please call 425-788-2953 or email office@bcumc.org to discuss.

Matching Gifts: Many companies offer employee matching gifts programs through which the company will match an employee’s cash donations to charitable organizations up to a certain limit per year. For example, companies like AT&T, Microsoft, and Boeing match gifts that have been designated for a church’s specific secular community outreach programs. So, be sure to review your company’s matching gifts policy.
