Eastside Baby Corner is a Blessing to Families in Need and We Can Help!
He took a little child and had him stand among them. Taking him in his arms, he said to them, “Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.” Mark 9: 36
On Monday, August 22nd, the folks at BCUMC will have the opportunity to work together at Eastside Baby Corner in Issaquah. Eastside Baby Corner (EBC) is an organization that was created for families to acquire the very basic needs for their young children (from birth to age 12), such as food, formula, clothing, diapers, bedding and safety equipment. Most items are donated and housed in a warehouse in Issaquah where case workers for families in need can pick up needed items. EBC also works in collaboration with many organizations that help families in need, serving as a food bank, diaper bank, and clothing bank to over 500 families a week. They distribute to families as far south as Enumclaw, to the foothills of the Cascades and as far north as Kenmore. We at BCUMC have often offered EBC as an option to donate for our Alternative Christmas Giving in December and we have collected items to replenish their supplies. On August 22nd we have arranged to go to Eastside Baby Corner to help sort and organize the many donated items they receive each day. Here is some information about our volunteer opportunity:
When: Monday, August 22nd, 5:30 - 7:00 pm (this is a prearranged time with EBC).
Where: Eastside Baby Corner. EBC is located on 1510 NW Maple Street in Issaquah, WA. They are south of I-90 and just west of downtown Issaquah in an area where there are many warehouses.
Our Opportunity: Work together at EBC, sorting and organizing donated supplies. Children must be over age 6 to help and if they are younger than 13 years of age, must be accompanied by an adult.
