“Teens are like two-year-olds in that they love to test limits and rules. What’s different about teens is that they also have hormones and wheels?” Jim Fay, founder of Love and Logic Parenting.

When kids hit their teens, parenting takes on a whole new dimension. As they struggle toward independence some critical issues emerge for parents and kids to deal with. This highly acclaimed parenting program uses a philosophy that parenting a teen can be fun!

This class is for parents who have ‘tweenagers’, those cute little 10-12 year-olds who clutch their Barbie or Hot Wheel as they demand to be driven to the mall, and full-blown teens (those are the cuties that want the driving privileges to the car you just filled with gas.) This class gives parents of teens and tweens practical, easy-to-use skills that work- not just a lot of theory. It provides parents with techniques that teach their teen constructive lessons about responsibility.

Love means giving teens opportunities to be responsible and empowering them to make their own decisions. Logic means allowing them to live with the consequences of their mistakes and showing empathy for the pain they will experience.

Using Love and Logic skills helps parents raise children who are self-confident, motivated, and ready for the real world. It emphasizes a win-win approach to parenting. Teens win because they’ll learn to solve their own problems and gain the confidence they need to meet life’s challenges. Parents win because they can establish healthy control - without resorting to anger, threats, nagging or exhausting power struggles. Love and Logic puts the fun back into parenting!
