Sunday School will resume next Sunday at 11:00 a.m.!

Midweek at Bear Creek will resume on Wednesday, September 10. We are in desperate need for individuals, groups, committees, covenant groups, etc., to cook the meals. Bread, salad, peanut butter and jelly, and macaroni and cheese will always be available. Your team will need to set up, prepare the meal, and clean up afterwards. We are in particular need for September 17 and 24 and October 1, 15 and 22. If you are able to help fulfill this ministry, please contact Merideth or Tina Stroh at 425. 481.5735.

Habitat for Humanity. BCUMC will not participate in the Redmond Habitat building project in August due to a shortage of Americorp team leaders. Building will resume in September. We will resume our regular schedule of building the second Saturday of September.

Celebration Choir. The Celebration Choir will begin its new season on Thursday, September 11. We rehearse on Thursdays from 7:45-8:45 p.m. We have worked very hard in the past couple of years to become a true “small group” or “choir family.” We start each rehearsal with a brief devotional (usually from the Upper Room) and end each rehearsal in a circle sharing our joys and concerns and praying together. And-we have fun! We would love for you to come join us! The choir generally sings on the second and fourth Sundays of the month. Come check it out! For further information, please contact Debbie Brown, choir director, at debbie.jean. brown@gmail.com or Sara Lambert at saralambert@verizon.net.

College Scholarships. If you are planning to attend classes this fall and are interested in applying for a BCUMC scholarship opportunity, please send us the name of the university, college or technical school you will be attending along with your fall e-mail and school address.

Bloodmobile. The blood drive here on August 12 was very successful, with 52 donors. A number of walk-ins had to be turned away because the schedule was full. The Blood Center has asked us to do an extra bus drive to assist them in making up for summer shortages. So there will be a bus in our parking lot again on Tuesday, September 2, from 1:00 to 7:00 pm. (Dinner break 3:00-4:00.) If you weren’t able to donate in August, here is another opportunity! Call the church office for an appointment.

Craft Group. I’m looking for people who are interested in participating in a group centered on fellowship through crafts (of all kinds). I’m exploring the possibility of forming a group to meet on a regular basis (monthly) for fellowship and a time dedicated to pursuing our crafts together and, perhaps, learning how to do something new. At this point, meeting schedules, future projects and content are wide open for suggestions. Please let me know what would encourage your participation and meet your needs. Student Exchange. Envision world peace. Have you ever considered hosting an international high school student? The Council for Educational Travel USA (CETUSA) is happy to answer your questions about this opportunity. We have students from Asia, Europe, Central and South America who dream of spending a semester or a year in an American high school. We can match you with a student who will fit right in with your family. Help us take those first steps toward word peace by calling 888.238.8721.
