Dear Bearcreekians,

I am someplace in the Gulf Islands sailing. But you remain with me. I have not forgotten you nor have my prayers and love left you. I pray your lives are full and healing and that you are remembering to attend to your relationship with God through worship, study and service.

Sometimes when the pastor is out on vacation, parishioners decide that is a good time to skip church. To be honest, I would prefer that you skip when I am there. I pray you don’t come to Bear Creek because of me (I am not Jesus and you are fully aware of this by now). And therefore I pray you don’t skip worship because of me.

You can have me most any old week. Wally and Joan, who are filling the pulpit, deserve your gift of presence. I pray that when I return and get the attendance statistics you came in huge numbers to hear what gifts God brought in my absence.
