30-Hour Famine. Missions would like to thank all who supported Jamie Wilson and the Highland Park UMC youth through your prayers and your gifts during the recent 30-Hour Famine. The 30- Hour Famine was a chance for the kids to see what its like to be hungry. They went for 30 hours without eating, and all the money raised will go to World Vision to help aid children in Africa. The famine took place last weekend on the 21st and 22nd of June. If you did not get a change to support this cause but would like to do so, it’s not too late. Make your check payble to BCUMC with “World Vision” in the note line or see Jamie after this Sunday’s service. Welcome home, Jamie!

Green Tip of the Week. There’s a Catch. By eating fish that are caught in an environmentally responsible manner, you can help keep the marine ecosystem healthy, without compromising freshness and taste. Find out which fish are best and worst to choose at www.environmentaldefense.org/tool.cfm?tool=seafood

Prayer shawl ministry. Can you knit, crochet, quilt, or do another fabric craft? We’d love to have you join us in a prayer shawl ministry. A prayer shawl will wrap someone in love and prayer as they go through times of stress. Several of the shawls have already been given to people who need the God hugs. I will help with patterns, materials and the process. Please contact me if you have questions. (Joan Pierce, jpierce622@aol.com or 360.668.9691) Just remember, yours are the only hands Christ has now.
