Dear Bearcreekians,

Today I met with our District Superintendent. In the conference structure, she is my immediate superior in the chain of command. I know this may surprise some of you, but I am an employee of Northwest Conference of the United Methodist Church, and I am a “consultant” appointed to Bear Creek UMC.

I have learned over time to truly try and be a consultant to the real ministers of a congregation. Those real ministers are you. You are the congregation called by God to be here and do God’s work here. I am assigned to help you and serve you. So the next time someone asks, “Who is your minister?” don’t tell them my name, tell them the name of someone in the congregation who is or has ministered to you. Think about it.
